Favorites and Goal Alerts on FawaNews: Follow Your Team Without an Account

You do not need an account to keep track of the teams, leagues and matches you care about on FawaNews. Favorites are saved right in your browser, and the Live page can show a pop-up when a goal is scored. Here is how each part works, and what it does not do.

Star a team or league

Open any team page or league page and select the star button beside the name. It fills in to show the team or league is saved. Select it again to remove it. You can find pages to star from Teams and Leagues, or by using search.

Use the bell on a match

Every match card and match page has a small bell icon. Select it to save that game to your favorites as a match alert. It is a quick way to build a short list of the games you plan to watch or check later.

Your Favorites page

Open Favorites from the star icon in the top bar. Your saved items are grouped into Teams, Leagues and Match Alerts. Select an item to jump to its page, or use the X to remove it.

Goal pop-ups on the Live page

When you have the Live page open, FawaNews checks for updates about every 15 seconds. If a score goes up, a "Goal!" pop-up appears with the new scoreline and disappears after a few seconds. These pop-ups appear on the page itself while it is open. They are not push notifications, so you will not receive them when the tab is closed or your phone is locked.

Privacy: everything stays on your device

Favorites are stored in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to our servers, and there is no login. The flip side is that they belong to one browser on one device: clearing your browser data, using a private window or switching devices means starting again. You can read more in our privacy policy.

Tips

• Star your club first, then add the league it plays in.
• Use the bell for matches you want to find quickly on the day.
• Keep the Live page open in a background tab on match day to catch goal pop-ups.
