Match Pages Explained: Events, Line-Ups, Statistics and Head-to-Head

Every match on FawaNews has its own page, and it is more than a scoreline. Open a game and you can follow the events as they happen, check the line-ups, compare team statistics and see how the two sides have fared against each other before. This guide explains what each part of a match page shows.

The match header

At the top you will find both teams, the score and the match status: the current minute for a game in play, HT at half-time or FT at full time. The half-time score appears under the main score once the break has been reached. For matches that have not started, the header shows the full kick-off date and time in your time zone, with a live countdown. Below the score you can see the competition and round, the stadium and, when available, the referee.

Events tab

The events timeline lists what happened in the order it happened. Goals are highlighted with the scorer's name and, where recorded, the assist. Cards are marked yellow or red, substitutions show the player leaving and the player coming on, and VAR decisions appear when the data provider reports them. Events for the home side sit on the left and events for the away side on the right, so the flow of the game is easy to follow. Added-time events show as, for example, 90+3'.

Lineups tab

Line-ups list the starting XI with shirt numbers and positions, the formation and the coach, followed by the substitutes. Teams usually announce their line-ups around an hour before kick-off, so this tab may show "Lineups not published yet" earlier in the day. Once the data arrives it appears the next time the page refreshes.

Statistics tab

The statistics tab compares the two teams side by side with simple bars, so you can see who is having the better of the game. The exact figures depend on what the provider supplies for that match, but commonly include shots, possession, corners, fouls and cards. A longer bar for one team means a larger share of the combined total for that statistic.

Head-to-Head tab

Head-to-head shows the most recent meetings between the two teams. At the top, a small tally counts wins for each side and draws across those matches. Below it, each previous game is listed with its date and score, and you can tap one to open that match's own page. History is useful context, but it does not decide tomorrow's result.

Save a match with the bell

Use the bell icon in the match header to save the game to your Favorites. Favorites and goal alerts explains what that does.

When some information is missing

Not every match has every detail. Statistics and line-ups are not available for all competitions or before a game starts, and smaller fixtures often have fewer events recorded. When a section has nothing to show, you will see a short message explaining why instead of an empty page.
